The Harvard Business Review's Management Tip of the Day for today describes the "3 Characteristics of a Real Team": a meaningful and common purpose, adaptable skills and mutual accountability. Regarding accountability, the Tip reminds us "You can't force trust and commitment. Agreeing on the team's goals is the first moment at which team members forge their accountability to one another." For professional services firms, where teams are integral to performance at every level, thinking about how teams work - and how they can work better - is always a worthwhile exercise.
